Welcome to A Himalayan Odyssey

Those in love with the Himalayan Mountains can take up the general treks which range from easy walks to high altitude treks complete with porters, tents and the works. In all our trekking and touring trips, we take utmost care of the environment in which we work. Though we use plastics for storage and packing we make sure that these are not littered on the way. We always carry kerosene and bottled gas for use as fuel in the treks and never use fossil or wood fuel. Even dead branches along the trails are left untouched in order that they may decompose back into the humus so useful to our earth.

These treks in the Himalayan Mountains seem to rejuvenate people, seem to relieve people of the stress and problems of everyday life, and seem to make people friendlier towards their fellow men. This is not just our observation but “true confessions” during sing songs and philosophical discourses around evening campfires.

Popular treks are the Sandakphu - Phalut trip 7-8 days which starts at Maneybhanjyang and takes one up to 11,000ft and above sea level. In Sikkim we recommend the 9 days Dzongri Trek up to Gochala. On your trek you will be accompanied by our staff who will prepare the meals, look after all the camping arrangements. We provide tents with mattresses, dining tents and toilet tents. All goods are transported by horses, yaks and porters.

Here are some sample itineraries, but we can make trekking programs to meet individual needs and preferences.

Area: West Sikkim

Best Season: October - December & March - May

A land of high mountains, monasteries, orchids & butterflies, dense forest & clear streams, Sikkim is perfect trekking country. Birdlife is prolific, & wild alpine flowers grow in profusion. Forest of Rhododendron, when in bloom (spring), provide a vivid splash of colour.

A beautiful climb through dense forests, with magnolia, rhododendron, blue poppies and orchids in abundance. Black and brown Himalayan bear, musk deer, and a variety of other wild animals inhabit the area. After visiting a small village of Tibetan refugees, the trail moves on to Dzongri with its magnificent view of the Kanchenjunga massif. The peaks of Jopine, Kabru, and Pandim as well as some of the mountains of Nepal and Tibet now come into view. The Gocha - la offers a spectacular and close view of Kanchenjunga.
